The Japanese concept of moai(s) translates into „meeting for a common purpose“ and can be described as social support groups that also provide a safe and comfortable space to exchange ideas and knowledge among friends and peers.

Moais.io is on a mission to provide the (technical) framework and support for building such digital spaces to value driven organisations who want to encourage and facilitate meaningful conversations and the exchange of relevant information. Without the headache.

The concept of social media is one of a selling or promotion platform. Might that be to promote one’s own ideas, views, image or to sell products and services. At its best, it is entertaining. More often, it is distracting. A chat or comment function doesn’t change that.

In terms of communication, social media is a one-way street with a dead end.

Trying to provide meaningful information and having actual conversations with your stakeholders – the people your organisation is built for and of - within such a framework is like whispering in the fury of a storm.

Moais.io is meant to be an information and support platform, that encourages and enables its contributors and members (guests) to consciously send and receive, actually understand, deeply reflect and sustainably benefit from valuable information while practising a meaningful exchange of ideas and knowledge – ultimately adapting the Japanese concept of moai(s) – the concept of social supporting groups to “meet for a common purpose” – to add value to their lives and the community.

It is our mission to provide the technical and organisational framework to small and non-profit organisations which enables them to initiate, grow and serve their own community or communities within their respective field(s) of interests and purpose.

As an organisation you can go one of two ways:

Either we create a collection of dedicated spaces within the moais.io platform (whether private or public) or we help you set up your native community - connected to your custom domain.

If you choose to join moais.io (the community of communities) your members will login to this platform and (depending on your settings) have access to the respective spaces. We facilitate the framework, manage settings and accessibility and provide your moderator(s) with the onboarding they need to get started.

In case you go with your own community – separated from moais.io – we are happy to help you set up your framework (platform) and help your moderator(s) and administrator(s) to get started as fast and smooth as possible.

The total costs of your project will depend on the choices you make and the features you opt for.

As a benchmark: Your community (collection) with up to five spaces would cost you 500€ for 12 months. The Setup is a one-time fee of 200€. (prices before VAT)

To keep our own organisation lean, we cannot offer you monthly payment options.

For additional support we charge 60€ for every 30 minutes-unit.
